The hall itself is beautiful and set in lovely grounds with wonderful views. The room was smaller than expected but clean and the bed was very comfortable. L'occitane toletries went down well and the ice bucket and jar of shortbread was a lovely touch. We had the afternoon tea and the scones are the best we've ever tasted. The male staff member at breakfast was very warm and welcoming.
We went to relax and the welcome pack states that you wish nothing more than for guests to relax. We were rudely awoken at 7.20am by the emptying of the bottle bank right underneath our window. I mentioned it to the young Man when checking out but he didn't seem interested and seemed to be of the opinion that it wasn't he responsibility of the Hotel. It dampened the enjoyment of what was supposed to be a special treat for my Mum's Birthday.

No tea making facility in room would stop me returning. This is essential in this day and age

Staff most welcoming and friendly.Standard of furnishing and decor first class. Food excellent. The location is beautiful. The hotel is elegant and set in the most attractive rural surroundings.Super bathroom facilities, luxurious towels.
My only reservation is lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Last room available.Single room with a double bed.Not right !.Very bad value.!" Spoilt our stay.Staff admitted they are due for a revamp. By booking on line did not expect to be put in such a small room with only one chair etc. Having been to this hotel for meal before expected better.value. Pity.!

main meal, fish over cooked and source had little flavour, plus vegetables were not sufficiently cooked

The setting was superb and serene, ideally situated for the surrounding area, with very pleasant walks nearby.
there were no tea- making facilities in the room, which was unusual, and some of the wines were expensive and very poor quality e.g. Chablis. Also the classic double room was on the small side for the price.

We found this hotel a little tired, our room was very small and not up to what I expected for the amount we paid. The breakfast was only okay.
